Welcome to Pastoral Counseling at TOBChurch

At TOBChurch, we are committed to providing individual counselling services that are rooted in the teachings of Theology of the Body. Our pastoral counselling is designed to support individuals in their spiritual and emotional well-being, offering a safe space for exploration and healing.

Pastor George Day has professional experience in integrating faith and psychology, offering a holistic approach to mental and emotional health. We believe that every individual is created in the image of God, and our counselling services are tailored to honour and respect each person's unique journey.

Whether you are facing challenges in relationships, struggling with personal identity, or seeking spiritual guidance, our pastoral counselling services are here to walk alongside you in your journey towards wholeness and healing.

Pastor George has also first-hand personal expertise in accompanying persons struggling with PTSD addictions, having himself recovered through the use of the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous

Our Pastoral Counselling Services

Relationship Counselling

Our relationship counselling services are designed to help individuals navigate the complexities of relationships, offering guidance and support for healthy communication and emotional connection.

LGBT Identity Struggle & Purpose Exploration

We provide a safe space for individuals to explore their personal identity and purpose as persons living with same-sex attraction &/or gender dysphoria/intersex condition, offering support and guidance in the journey towards self-discovery and authentic living.

Spiritual Guidance

Our pastoral counsellors offer spiritual guidance and support, helping individuals deepen their faith and connection with God as they navigate life's challenges through ancient wisdom.

Our Approach

Our therapeutic approach is a blend of both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and the Twelve Step Program – having individuals identify their problems, helping them come up with ways to control and alter their dysfunctional thoughts, and enabling them to maintain this positive change. Both approaches work by changing people's attitudes and their behaviour by focusing on the thoughts, images, beliefs, and attitudes that influence their behaviour and lead them to self-destructive actions. The two approaches within CBT that really resonate with Twelve-Step recovery are the behavioural and the cognitive. CBT is a clinical, evidence-based therapeutic method, while the 12-Step program is a self-help and peer support approach. CBT does not rely on a spiritual component or the concept of a higher power, making it a more secular approach, whereas the 12-Step program incorporates spirituality as a core element.
